Living Water Ministries at 70

Does 70 seem old? Some people would say 70 is the new 60, but however you look at it, LWM turns 70 this year! In early 1946, a group of followers of Christ believed that a church needed to be established in the Ogden area of Wilmington, NC and the rest is history! We’re part of that history. Just as those before us did their part to honor and serve God, we have the joyful opportunity to do likewise.

Those structures that are built on a good foundation stand, and as I (Pastor Rick) have had the privilege of knowing many of the good folks that have been part of this church over the past 50 years, I know we are on solid ground! These godly people trusted the Word of God that says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Another translation says, “The work of the builders is wasted”, but God built this house!

70 years is often used to represent a generation. As we end one generation and begin another, I am counting on God’s blessing and His promise that “in all things at all times” He will continue to faithfully honor our trust and obedience. We are living in a generation that desperately needs to see and know our awesome God! They need to know the Jesus that loves them enough to give His life for them! They need for us to live with character and integrity, walking in truth and love. It’s our turn, friends!
