Pastor Rick Crocker grew up as a ‘preacher’s kid’ under the ministry of his father, the late Rev. Harold R. Crocker. Rick began serving the congregation while just a teenager as the church organist, and eventually as the choir director and music minister. In the 1990’s, Rick came on staff as Pastor of Administration and Director of Youth Ministries. In 2004, Rick became our pastor at the time of his dad’s retirement.
In addition to his ministry to our congregation, Rick is also active in the Eastern North Carolina Advent Christian Conference (a regional collection of AC churches) and is a vital part of our conference’s ministry through Camp Dixie, near Fayetteville, NC.
Pastor Rick loathes neckties, and instead, prefers khakis and plaid shirts. He has even been known to come to the pulpit in shorts and a t-shirt, much to his mother’s chagrin.
This Month’s Meditation Scripture
"When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." — Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT
